AU leaves LSSU winless during Ohio trek
ASHLAND, Ohio - Ashland won 25-15, 25-23, 25-13 Saturday to leave the Lake Superior State volleyball team winless during this weekend's Ohio trek.
Abby Shereda had nine kills, and Janelle Balkwill totaled six kills and 19 assists to lead LSSU (6-15 overall, 2-12 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Nikki Stratelak and Chloe Balanda added five kills each. Libero Brittany Newberry totaled 13 digs.
Ashland, which boasts individual league leaders in service points, kills, attack percentage and assists, improved to 14-8 overall and 7-6 in the GLIAC.
The Lakers play their final homestand Oct. 29-30. They play host to Michigan Tech at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, and Northern Michigan at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30.
