Hall of Fame Golf Classic slated for Aug. 28
SAULT STE. MARIE – The first Lake Superior State Hall of Fame Golf Classic will be held Aug. 28 at The Oaks at Kincheloe and will benefit LSSU’s Division II sports teams.
The Hall of Fame Classic, a four-person scramble for men’s, women’s and mixed teams, is in its inaugural year and replaces the long-standing Bud Cooper Classic. The event coincides with the second annual Women’s Walk, which begins at 9 a.m. on Aug. 28 at the Norris Center. The golf outing at Kincheloe opens with a shotgun start at noon.
Registration for the golf tournament is $100 per person and includes a meal and shared golf cart. Hole sponsorships are also available for $100. For more information, contact LSSU golf coach Jamie Davison, jdavison@lssu.edu or 495-5706. Entry forms are available on the LSSU Athletics web site.
Last year’s Women’s Walk raised $20,000 for LSSU women’s athletics. The event is quickly growing into one of the University’s biggest and most-successful fund-raising ventures. For more information, contact LSSU assistant women’s basketball coach Shannon Eggers, seggers@lssu.edu or 635-2368.
