Bulldogs take three of four sets from Lakers
SAULT STE. MARIE - Ferris State defeated Lake Superior State 3-1 Sunday to leave the Lakers winless during their three-match volleyball homestand.
The Lakers (3-6 overall, 1-4 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) play their next match Sept. 24 at Michigan Tech. FSU, which claimed a 25-21, 25-16, 22-25, 25-15 decision, improved to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the GLIAC.
Nikki Stratelak totaled 13 kills, Jeanna Radzinski had 11 and Emily Snyder 10 to lead LSSU. Stratelak also posted an impressive .611 attack percentage, and Radzinski hit .444. As a team, Lake Superior State had a decent attack rate of .211, but the Bulldogs turned in a more-impressive .333. Arielle Goodson totaled 18 kills for FSU.
Laker setter Janelle Balkwill totaled 41 assists. Libero Brittany Newberry had 17 digs, and Snyder followed with 10.
