Lakers fall at Tiffin to split weekend matches
TIFFIN, Ohio - Jeanna Radzinski and Abby Shereda totaled 12 kills each as the Lake Superior State volleyball team lost 3-1 at Tiffin Saturday. LSSU (3-3 overall, 1-1 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) split decisions during their first weekend of league play.
Emily Snyder finished with 10 kills, and Nikki Stratelak added eight as the Lakers dropped a close contest, 25-23, 25-17, 24-26, 25-21. Janelle Balkwill totaled 34 assists, and Brittany Newberry led in digs with 16 for LSSU. Snyder added 10 digs and two aces.
Tiffin improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the GLIAC.
The Lakers begin a three-match homestand at 7 p.m. Friday against Saginaw Valley State.
