Lakers lose road match at SVSU

UNIVERSITY CENTER - Sara Hess totaled 11 kills, and Trisha Dutton came off the bench to compile a career-high eight kills for the Lake Superior State volleyball team, which lost 30-21, 30-25, 30-26 Saturday at Saginaw Valley State.

Brishia Stroven led LSSU in digs with 14, followed by Jessica Ewer with 11 and Jamie Groos with 10. Gross also contributed two solo blocks and two block assists.

Erin McLain totaled 19 assists, and Ashley Purvis had six.

The Lakers (7-20 overall, 2-13 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) play at Northwood at 4 p.m. Sunday. SVSU improved to 19-9 overall and 8-7 in the GLIAC.
