Lakers close out season at NMU

MARQUETTE - The Lake Superior State volleyball team wrapped up its season with a three-set loss at Northern Michigan on Saturday.

NMU swept the Lakers, 30-19, 30-23, 30-15. LSSU's only senior, Jamie Groos, totaled four kills, four block assists and 12 digs in her final collegiate match.

Sara Hess and Ali Jones led LSSU with seven kills each. Hess also contributed three blocks. Jessica Ewer added 12 digs, and Erin McLain and Ashley Purvis combined for 20 assists.

The Lakers finished 8-22 overall and 3-15 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Association. NMU ended the regular season 19-11 overall and 13-5 in the GLIAC.
