In the Polls

Those rankings came at the end of the Lakers' streak of 11 consecutive polls in the top 20. The streak began on Oct. 21, 2013 and Lake Superior State ranked as high as No. 12 (Oct. 28, 2013) during the string of polls.

Prior to entering the USCHO poll on Nov. 19, the Lakers had not been ranked in the top 20 since Nov. 7, 2016 when they were also ranked 20th.

Road Success

Lake State is 5-1-0 (.833) in road games this season. The Lakers are tied for both the fourth-most road wins in the nation and the fourth-best road winning percentage.

Ranked Opponents

After going 0-6-2 against ranked teams in 2017-18, LSSU is off to a 2-2-0 start this season against ranked opponents. The Lakers have wins over two top-15 opponents this season: Michigan (then-No. 12) and Bowling Green (then-No. 10) on Nov. 2 and Nov. 16, respectively.

The Mavericks are averaging 4.17 goals per game — leading the WCHA and ranking third in the nation — and 27.25 shots on goal per game.
